美國專利暨商標局資深法律顧問馬克‧柯桓(Mark Cohen) 與台灣智慧財產局王美花局長6月9日一同拜訪台灣作家黃春明。柯桓學習中文多年，是黃春明先生的忠實書迷。他們兩位就文學對文化及社會的關係交換意見, 也分享共同認識的朋友的消息. 美國十分尊崇台灣各領域的創作人才，也希望透過雙邊對於智慧財產權議題的合作與討論，能夠一同保護這些創作人的心血結晶，將這些優秀的作品留傳給下一代。
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Senior Counsel Mark Cohen joined Taiwan Intellectual Property Office Director General Wang Mei-hwa in visiting with Taiwan author Huang Chunming in Taipei on June 9. Mark, a long-time student of Chinese, is an avid reader of Huang’s novels. The two shared and views on literature’s indispensable role in culture and society and reminiscences of mutual acquaintances in Taiwan and U.S. literary circles. The United States values Taiwan creators and authors, and we work together to protect their work for future generations though our discussions with Taiwan on copyright and other forms of intellectual property.
